Greenfield Community College

Health Care Paraprofessional Training

Nursing Assistant (NA) & Home Health Aide (HHA) at GCC

A partnership with Tripp Community Care Collaborative

The demand for well-trained health care paraprofessionals is growing as the baby boom generation rapidly approaches elderhood.  Many health care providers employ paraprofessionals for additional job support.  Long term care facilities (nursing homes), home health agencies, hospice, assisted living centers, adult day health programs, rehabilitation facilities, hospitals and others offer secure employment options with good benefits, flexible hours and career advancement opportunities.

As an NA/HHA you will have the additional satisfaction of making a positive difference in the lives of the individuals for whom you provide care.  Beyond career options, the direct care skills and body of knowledge you will gain through this program will greatly enhance your ability to care for yourself and your loved ones with more comfort and confidence.

Greenfield Community College is the region’s primary resource for cultural, economic workforce development and professional training with a strong commitment to community education.  We are approved by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health to provide training programs leading to state certification.  We offer a dedicated nursing skills lab for pre-clinical training and collaboration with other GCC health and wellness programs:  Associate Degree Nursing, Practical Nursing, and Paramedic/EMS.

Tripp Community Care Collaborative is a non-profit organization whose mission is to improve the ability of our community to care for our elders and their caregivers.  The staff and board of Tripp have many years of professional, paraprofessional and administrative experience and expertise in the extended health care field. Their commitment to quality care and the highest standards of education and ongoing support of our community’s direct care workforce makes them the ideal partner for GCC in developing a rich curriculum and a comprehensive training program.
