Katharine began at GCC over ten years ago, teaching a course on Gerontology. Since then she has taught within the Sociology department. She is particularly interested in how social environment (gender, race, social class, etc.) impacts people’s health, and she obtained a Master’s Degree in Public Health from the Harvard School of Public Health in 1998. Katharine also works at Holyoke Community College, where she teaches Sociology courses as well as a Human Services course she created on Family Violence. She lives in Northampton with her partner, their three children, and a particularly mischievous kitten named Moxie
