Databases are a type of search engine – you search within them to find information (sometimes articles from journals, magazines, newspapers, sometimes encyclopedia articles, even movies or audio clips). This is protected information, to which you only have access as a GCC student, faculty, or staff member (community members can access our databases from on-campus, only). Much of the information within these databases is information that you cannot find on the general internet or through Google.
Note: Off-campus access to the following subscription databases is limited to those with a current GCC student, faculty, or staff library card. Community members who have a library card from any Massachusetts library can access free databases provided by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.
Databases marked as full text will only have content that can be immediately accessed. If you are unable to find the full text of an article in a particular database, search the eJournal Locator to see if we have it in any of our other databases. If not, please fill out an InterLibrary Loan request.
