This spring we’re excited to host two kick-off events celebrating spring and GCC’s new Farm and Food Systems Liberal Arts Option.
Building a Cooperative Food Economy: A Panel of Cooperative Food Systems Businesses
Wednesday, May 9, 12-2pm in the GCC Dining Commons
Featuring representatives from Valley Green Feast, Franklin Community Co-op, Equal Exchange, Pedal People, Neighboring Food Co-op Association and the Valley Alliance of Worker Cooperatives. Panelists will give short lightning talks, followed by an engaging Q&A session focused on each cooperative’s model and contribution to building a just, healthy and local food economy.
Permaculture Design Final Presentations: A Series of Student Design Projects in Greenfield & Turners Falls
Tuesday, May 15, 1-4pm in GCC’s multipurpose room C208
* GCC permaculture presentation from 1-2pm *
Students from this spring’s permaculture class share their projects for local sites including Greenfield Community College, Greenfield’s Energy Park, Franklin County Tech School and residential properties.
