NASPA Region 1 is co-sponsoring a Conference with Greenfield Community College. Re-setting Perspectives: A Conference on Student Veterans, Women, and LGBT Students in Higher Education
When: Saturday, April 28, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Where: Greenfield Community College Campus, Greenfield, MA
Keynote: Genevieve Chase, Executive Director, American Women Veterans
Conference details: This is a drive in conference which will take place at GCC (Greenfield, MA http://www.gcc.mass.edu/) on Saturday, April 28 from 8am-5pm sponsored by the Region 1 Veterans, LGBT, and Women’s Knowledge Communities. This conference will offer six sessions each on student veterans, women students, and LGBT students and will feature a 75 minute poster session. The Keynote speaker is Genevieve Chase of http://americanwomenveterans.org/. The conference fee will be $10 for students and $15 for non-students. The goal of this conference is to offer take-away ideas for student affairs professionals to effectively consider and serve these student populations, students will also benefit from these sessions. Facilitator sessions are 75 minutes and the poster session will be about 75 minutes as well. The conference program is arranged to allow attendees to choose tracks to attend and the day will culminate with the keynote speaker and a wine and cheese social.
