Technology’s power and challenge for the use of the technology of digital cameras, live streaming and social media is in the news again. How do college officials, college professors and staff and college services and policies promote civility and tolerance? As the Rutger’s University’s story of suicide of a student suggests, many gay college students are still vulnerable to torment and harassment, despite increasing efforts on campuses to promote tolerance and provide resources. For classroom teachers and college staff, the question arises how to promote civility in the classroom and college. The Campus Pride 2010 report provides some guidance.
